Khorshid

Notion didn't know the Persian calendar. I taught it. Then Persian fonts and right-to-left text, because once you start, you can't stop.

Free and open source · Collects nothing about you · GitHub

A Notion table showing dates such as 11 Aban 1405 instead of Nov 2, 2026

What Notion was missing in Persian

Jalali dates in Notion

Tables, page properties, @date mentions, ranges and times. Even "Today" becomes «امروز».

Persian calendar views

Month names, weekdays and day numbers in the Calendar view, all Jalali. No more mental math to work out which day of Aban November 2 is.

Type Jalali dates

Type 1405/8/11 in a Notion date field and press Enter. Notion figures out which day you meant.

Persian fonts

Vazirmatn, Estedad, Sahel, Shabnam, Samim or Parastoo. Only Persian letters change; your English stays as it is.

Automatic direction

Each paragraph, cell and card works out whether it's Persian or English and lines up on the correct side. Code stays left-to-right.

"sghl" means «سلام»

Typed Persian on an English keyboard again? Select it and press Alt+Shift+L. It also fixes Arabic ي/ك and half-spaces.

Persian calendars inside Notion

Month, today, week, or a countdown to Nowruz (which never comes fast enough). Pick a color, copy the link and paste it into Notion with /embed. Works in Notion's desktop and phone apps, Obsidian and your own site. No extension needed.

Questions you're about to ask

Doesn't Notion have a Persian calendar already?

No. Since January 2026 it handles right-to-left Arabic and Hebrew, but there's still no Jalali calendar. That's why Khorshid exists.

Does it change my Notion pages?

No. Dates only look Jalali on your screen; Notion keeps the same Gregorian dates. Teammates without the extension won't notice a thing.

Does it work in the Notion desktop or phone app?

The extension runs in Chromium browsers: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc and friends. Notion's apps don't take extensions. The embedded calendars work everywhere, though.

Is it free?

Yes. Free, open source, and it collects no data, because I have no use for it. Privacy policy.
